Job Description

The Business Development Director – Wool & Cotton is a full-time position with the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), based in Dhaka within the Australian High Commission. You will report to the Trade & Investment Commissioner South Asia and be responsible for driving trade expansion for Australian wool and cotton growers, processors, and exporters in the high-potential Bangladesh market. This role requires a professional with deep, existing networks and a profound understanding of the South Asia textiles sector to generate concrete commercial opportunities and provide critical market insights.

Your key mission is to support Wool Producers Australia and the Australian Cotton Shippers Association by identifying trends, managing a client portfolio, and promoting Australian fibre at relevant events. You will represent Australia’s interests, build strategic relationships, and gather supply chain intelligence. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your sector expertise for a government agency, with a competitive gross annual salary of BDT 5,537,207. To be considered, you must already have the legal right to work in Bangladesh and be prepared for a security clearance.
