Job Description

SMEC (an SJ Group company) is seeking a Manager/ Senior Manager – People & Culture to join their team in Dhaka. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team supporting organizational effectiveness through people strategies, capability development, and workforce initiatives. The role involves developing and implementing talent management strategies, leading performance management processes, and driving employee engagement initiatives. As part of a global urban and infrastructure consultancy firm with over 75 years of project delivery success, you’ll be contributing to creating futures worth inheriting while working alongside 16,000 client-centric specialists across more than 120 offices in over 40 countries.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in strengthening performance management frameworks, leading learning and development initiatives, and enhancing engagement to foster an inclusive, high-performance culture. You’ll be responsible for providing operational support to the business, supporting leadership pipeline development, and leveraging data-driven insights to enable sustainable business growth. Requirements

Education Requirements

Formal education in business or human resources is essential for this role.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Management
  • Advanced degree (MBA/EMBA) in Human Resources preferred
  • Professional HR certifications are a plus

Experience Requirements

Extensive HR experience with leadership responsibilities is required.

  • 8-10 years of progressive HR experience
  • Proven track record in talent management and performance management
  • Experience in learning & development initiatives
  • Leadership experience in HR operations and policy implementation

Qualifications

Comprehensive HR qualifications and strategic capabilities are essential.

  • Strong understanding of HR policies and local labor laws
  • Experience in employee engagement and retention strategies
  • Knowledge of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB) initiatives
