The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is seeking a dedicated Administrative and Logistics Support Specialist for its Emergency Centre for Transboundary Animal Diseases (ECTAD) based in Dhaka. This role is central to providing the essential operational backbone for FAO’s high-impact animal health and zoonotic disease programmes in Bangladesh. The specialist will manage day-to-day office operations, logistics coordination, fleet management, asset control, and vendor relations, ensuring the ECTAD team can focus on technical delivery. This position reports within the FAO Country Office structure and requires a proactive individual who can thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural UN environment while adhering to the highest standards of integrity.
The ideal candidate is a Bangladeshi national with an advanced degree and a minimum of seven years of hands-on experience in administrative and logistics support, preferably within international development, humanitarian, or NGO settings. Key responsibilities include overseeing office supplies and equipment, managing warehouse inventory, coordinating vehicle maintenance and rentals, supervising drivers and messengers, ensuring premises security, and supporting staff onboarding. Proficiency in MS Office, strong multitasking abilities, and excellent communication skills are essential. This is a non-staff National Project Personnel (NPP) position for up to 9 months, with possible extension.
