Civic Engagement ManagerOrganization: Shokriyo সক্রিয়Website: www.shokriyo.orgPosition SummaryThe Civic Engagement Manager leads the design, implementation, and expansion of civic participation initiatives that strengthen democratic engagement, social cohesion, and citizen-government collaboration across Bangladesh. The role focuses on mobilizing youth, communities, educational institutions, civil society, and local government stakeholders to encourage active citizenship and participatory governance. Key Responsibilities1. Civic Engagement & Community MobilizationDevelop and implement civic engagement campaigns and community initiatives. Organize citizen forums, consultations, and public dialogues with local government representatives. Build community participation mechanisms both online and offline. Promote democratic participation, accountability, and citizen awareness. 2. Youth Leadership DevelopmentLead youth-focused leadership and volunteer engagement programs. Coordinate university-based volunteer hubs and student engagement initiatives. Facilitate Active Citizens training workshops and social action projects. Mentor youth leaders and community facilitators. 3. Stakeholder & Partnership ManagementBuild partnerships with universities, NGOs, government agencies, media, and community organizations. Collaborate with civil society actors on governance, social cohesion, and public health advocacy initiatives. Represent Shokriyo in policy dialogues, workshops, and public events. 4. Program ManagementPlan, execute, monitor, and evaluate civic engagement programs. Develop implementation strategies for social action projects. Prepare project reports, impact documentation, and donor updates. Track program outcomes and community impact indicators. 5. Digital Civic ParticipationUse digital platforms to sustain civic dialogue and public participation. Coordinate social media campaigns promoting tolerance, inclusion, democratic participation, and fact-based civic awareness. Support digital literacy and misinformation prevention efforts. Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in: Development Studies Political Science Public Administration Sociology Communication International Relations or related fields 3–5+ years of experience in: Civic engagement Community development Governance programs Youth mobilization Advocacy campaigns NGO/social enterprise management Strong understanding of: Participatory governance Democracy and citizenship Social cohesion Youth engagement Community organizing in Bangladesh Essential SkillsCommunity mobilization Public speaking & facilitation Stakeholder engagement Leadership training Advocacy & campaign management Project coordination Strategic communication Report writing Social media engagement Partnership development Strategic Importance of the RoleThe role directly supports Shokriyo’s mission to:strengthen active citizenship, improve citizen participation, foster inclusive governance, increase youth engagement, and promote social harmony in Bangladesh.
