Job Description

The Asia Foundation is seeking a highly experienced Monitoring, Evaluation, Adaptation, and Learning (MEAL) Manager for its Building State Effectiveness and Accountability (BSEA) Programme in Dhaka. This senior-level position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a complex governance programme funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of the MEAL strategy, ensuring evidence-based decision-making and continuous learning across the programme. This role requires strong expertise in qualitative methods, adaptive management, and experience working with government stakeholders in Bangladesh.

The MEAL Manager will play a crucial role in supporting effective programme implementation by developing and maintaining comprehensive monitoring and evaluation systems. Working closely with the BSEA programme team and The Asia Foundation’s headquarters, the position involves designing innovative MEAL tools, conducting regular reviews, and building capacity among partners and government officials. The role offers the chance to contribute to meaningful governance reforms in Bangladesh while working with an international team and gaining valuable experience in development programming and adaptive management approaches.

  • Master’s degree in international development, public administration, public policy, or related field

  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in a MEAL position
  • Minimum of three years in a managerial or lead role on complex governance programmes
  • Experience with FCDO-funded programmes preferred
  • Experience in Bangladesh’s governance sector
  • Experience with adaptive management approaches
