Job Description

The National Consultant position at UNICEF in Dhaka offers an exciting opportunity to support the scaling up of the Alternative Learning Programme (ALP) for out-of-school adolescents in Bangladesh. This mid-level contract role involves providing technical expertise in assessment, certification, and accreditation to strengthen the national education system. The consultant will work under the guidance of UNICEF’s Education Section to support the development and upgrading of trade-specific skills training courses aligned with labor market demand.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Alternative Learning Opportunities for Out-of-School Children (ALO) initiative and the SKILFO model scaling efforts. This position requires extensive experience in TVET and skills development, with a focus on competency-based curriculum development and programme implementation. The consultant will contribute to building institutional capacity within the Bureau of Non-Formal Education (BNFE) and the Non-Formal Education Board, ultimately helping to create pathways for adolescents to access further education, skills development, and employment opportunities.

Education Requirements

University degree at Master’s level or equivalent in relevant fields is required for this consultancy role.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of experience in TVET, skills development, and NFE programme planning is essential for this position.

Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of TVET processes and experience in technical backstopping of pre-vocational programs are key qualifications for this role.
